Acupuncture can be a helpful treatment for cancer patients before, during, and after chemotherapy, radiation, immunotherapy or surgery. Research has shown it can:
• Reduce pain (from cancer or surgery) • Relieve stress • Anxiety • Depression • Sleeping issues • Improve and boost immune health Acupuncture can also help to manage the side effects of cancer treatment such as nausea and vomiting, fatigue, dry mouth, hot flashes and much more. Here at Kang Acupuncture, we realize the side effects of cancer treatment can be as bad as symptoms of the disease itself, reducing a patient’s overall quality of life. Acupuncture is not a cure for cancer, but it can complement traditional anti-cancer interventions by managing the symptoms and side effects of the disease. Acupuncture is a natural, holistic and safe therapeutic option for all age groups. It is an excellent option to consider if you or your loved one is suffering from the effects of cancer and its treatments. |
unite for XIU It was through Unite for HER’s education session that I learned to focus not only on traditional cancer treatment therapies but also include other complementary therapies that can bring my body’s ecosystem to whole health. Through different modalities such as massage therapy as well as acupuncture, I have gained new insights into what my body needs during and post chemotherapy, surgery, and radiation. These different modalities I believe are providing me with a speedier recovery. |
